Official Report of the Card Party

This is Hank of the GPSP reporting on the party that those boars hosted. I think that I'm the only one who didn't play any cards and so I'm about the only one who didn't lose money and possessions! I must admit that I have enjoyed taking on the role of observer at this event. It didn't hurt any that Braveheart told me a bonus was in store for me if I kept up with everything that happened while he was out shopping. That old cat is in love but he still manages to keep an eye on what is going on around here. If you ask me, that is the whole reason that he is as rich as he is! I am going to take my bonus and ask him how to invest it! Who knows, maybe some day they'll call me Hank the Rich Dog!

Arthur had us set the tables up in that big old building he was using for the games and had us stock it with plenty of refreshments. Chef Rocky provided a lot of finger food for everyone. I must admit that I indulged in some of those biscuits with that pate` and I even tried some carrots and fruit. I must admit it wasn't half-bad with some of Arthur's finest! We had the still set up and going 24 hours a day and Arthur was real happy with the corn that some of his friends brought in! We had to set up a guard around the clock because of that gang of coyotes and armadillos who were trying to take over the still! They thought they could take over and make a killing by selling it to Braveheart! They just didn't know what they were doing when they messed with Braveheart and Indy! That's another story that will be told a little later though so I'll keep on with my reporting.

We got the ladies all loaded on the bus with Braveheart. I don't know what got into Lucky and Tanner but those boys decided to go on the shopping trip! Toby was going to go but Calliope told him he needed to stay and bond with the boys. I noticed that Sidney was a little unhappy about him not going along but Braveheart told her to buy something special to impress him with later. Calliope told her she would show her what Toby would like so Sidney felt pretty special since she knew what a fashionable sow Calliope is. I caught Bandit and Trouble trying to sneak on the bus but Indy had told me to make sure those boys stayed at the card party so I grabbed them by the ears and hustled them right over to Indy. They were sure mad at me but Indy told them to be mad at him since I was just obeying his orders.

We all waved to the bus as it left and then there was a mad dash to claim a place at the tables for the games. It didn't take too long for Bandit and Trouble to lose all of the money that Braveheart had given them to play with. They were down to using their food bowls and other necessities of guinea pig life to wager with. They lost those almost as fast as they lost their money and Arthur added them to his collection with a real big smirk on his face. I have a feeling that Braveheart isn't going to be very happy with him for playing against the little guys but I figure they have to learn sometime!

We found out what had been done with the corn silk when some of the younger boars pulled out cigars and started to light them up! You should have seen Toby's face when he tried one. He turned green just before he ran out of the building. Forrest followed him out and when they came back in Toby was laughing so I guess Forrest had done what he does best with those young boars!

D'Art and Rowdy came in with a worried look on their faces and talked to Forrest, Arthur and Indy. Indy signalled some of the GPSP officers who were participating in the games to come with him and they all hurried out. Austen, Browning, and Poe left with D'Art and Rowdy to watch what was going on but the rest of the guys just played on. I have never seen so much money being exchanged and everyone was having a great time. Buddy came in and got some more of the GPSP and told me I might be needed in a few minutes but for now Indy wanted me to stay with the card players and make sure they all stayed in the building. He said they didn't need any more boars trying to be heroes! I sure got worried about those young boars who had left! They were a little wearing on the nerves at times but I had watched them grow from BBITs to Bad Boys and was right proud of them.

Rosie, Charlie, Pan, and Guiness were involved in a real intense game so I moseyed on over to see what was happening but I saw Casper, Rusty, and Budweiser start inching toward the door. I sprang into action and hollered for them to stop in the name of the GPSP. They stopped and looked at the floor while I told them how disappointed I was in them. I told them that if they went out there I would never get that promotion I was working for! Arthur called them over to his table and made them sit down to play. They told him they didn’t have any money so he said it would just be a friendly game to keep them out of trouble. I sure was glad when Ponder, Sabre, Ridge and Cheyenne came back in. They told me that everything was pretty quiet right now so they were back to play. I asked where Indy was and they said he was out taking care of the new secret weapon and making sure no armadillo or coyote had messed with it. I can’t believe that Braveheart bought us one of those but once again that’s another story for Indy to tell. Guiness let out a war whoop just about then and scared me to death! It turns out that he won the whole pot! He was a real happy pig for sure and he called me over and told me he was going to talk to Indy about me getting that promotion. I panicked! I begged him not to say anything cause I want it cause I deserve it! He understood so he treated me to a glass of the good brew! I put it up for later cause I was on duty!

Indy finally came in and asked who all had won and who all had lost everything they owned. I told him that Guiness and Arthur were both big winners but everyone but those young boars had won at least as much as they had lost. He invited Guiness and Arthur to sit down with him and Spring for a game. I didn’t tell anyone but I saw Ponder take up a seat where he could see the cards of those two boars. Spring and Indy proceeded to win back the food dishes and other personal possesions those two had won and they gave them back to the owners. You should have heard the cheer for those two dogs. It made me proud to be a canine!

The games broke up and soon all of the boars were sitting back listening to the stories of other adventures the older boars had participated in. Forrest, Arthur and Harley had the ear of all those boars! Rosie had some tales to share also. I wish you all could have seen the look on the faces of Pan, Raspberry, Toby, Reeses, and Adolph. I guarantee you that they are definitely BBIT’s! Look out for these young boars cause they are trouble just waiting to happen! Makes me proud!

Indy called Dakota, Ridge, Sabre, and Benjamin Wright Bunny over to him and then he motioned me over too! I was so happy to be singled out by this great leader! He told them that they would be on patrol around the still and that they were to report any problems immediately. He told me that Sammy and Buddy were keeping the still going with the help of D’Art, Rowdy, Austen, Browning and Poe. He said that they were to let me know of any problems cause he knew I could take care of them. I about busted my collar off at those words. I decided if I never got that promotion it would be okay cause Indy believed in me! It was at this time that Chef Rocky came in and announced the buffet was ready and everyone could come and eat as much as they wanted to. He was almost knocked down by all those boars racing for the dining hall! I’ve got to talk to that boy and make sure he knows what he can say around these boars! He’s going to get someone hurt one of these days!
